Uma boneca pode fazer muito mais do que servir para momentos de diversão entre crianças de todo o mundo. Em alguns casos, um brinquedo é uma ótima ferramenta de evangelização, mostrando aos mais novos – e também aos adultos – a diferença entre viver no mundo e seguir os ensinamentos de Cristo.É esse o objetivo do grupo Dolls On Mission (em português, Bonecas EmMissão), criado pela missionária Joanne Mucci. Com as suas próprias mãos – e, claro, com a preciosa ajuda de voluntárias – ela se dedica a costurar as bonecas. Desde 2007, cerca de oito mil pessoas de várias nações subdesenvolvidas e carentes ao redor do globo já receberam o brinquedo.
Mas não se engane quem pensa que esta é uma simples boneca de pano. Esta é especial. Para explicar melhor como é a vida com e sem Cristo, a boneca tem duas faces: de um lado um rosto triste – representando uma vida de pecados e do outro lado um rosto feliz, mostrando uma vida feliz com Deus, pautada por ensinamentos cristãos.
Cidadãos de Uganda, Peru, Quênia, Bolívia e Haiti, dentre outros, já receberam as bonecas evangelísticas. Em muitos casos, os missionários distribuem alguns brinquedos pelos ministérios locais, para estes possam ser utilizados na evangelização e na pregação da Palavra dentro da igreja, especialmente junto dos mais novos. E a receita tem dado certo. “Sabemos que estas bonecas alcançam lugares aonde não podemos nos dar ao luxo de ir. Eles vão tocar em uma criança que pode ter perdido tudo em um terremoto ou nunca teve um brinquedo em tudo”, escreve Joanne em um texto no blog da missão. “Não importa para onde as bonecas vão. Elas vão levar o amor de Deus para as pessoas, mostrando que Deus as ama e que elas não estão sozinhas”, acrescenta.
Confeccionar milhares de bonecas e enviá-las aos cantos mais recônditos do planeta não é tarefa fácil.
O trabalho requer empenho de voluntários, tempo e, sobretudo, disponibilidade financeira para enviar os brinquedos. Para realizar isso, o Dolls On Mission conta com a preciosa ajuda de instituições cristãs missionárias que tornam possível a distribuição das bonecas, fazendo com que crianças e adultos vítimas de pobreza, desastres naturais e várias circunstâncias catastróficas possam voltar a sorrir e afirmar com toda a certeza: Jesus me ama!
Uma pulseira que conta histórias de vida
Paralelamente às bonecas, o grupo Dolls on Mission também confecciona as chamadas pulseiras da salvação. A peça é elaborada com pedras coloridas, em que cada uma tem um significado diferente, mostrando assim os valores de uma vida baseada no Evangelho: - Pedra preta: representa o pecado que nos separa de Deus;
- Pedra vermelha: representa o sangue de Jesus Cristo, que morreu na cruz pela humanidade;
- Pedra branca: é uma prova do que Cristo fez por nós, que nos limpou dos pecados e nos deu uma nova vida;
- Pedra azul: representa a ressurreição de Cristo, quando a pedra estava revolvida do sepulcro e o céu passou de cinza para azul. A ressurreição é a boa notícia que esse colar tem para partilhar: Jesus está vivo;
- Pedra verde: é a nova vida que se pode encontrar em Deus, que muda o nosso interior e nos torna novas pessoas;
- Pedra amarela: é a representação do ouro, ilustração do céu, onde os Escolhidos viverão por toda a eternidade.
Tanto as bonecas quanto as pulseiras são distribuídas por grupos de missionários cristãos, que munidos com a Bíblia, percorrem países praticamente destruídos por guerras, pobreza ou catástrofes naturais para levar um pouco de alegria ao coração dos esquecidos pelos governantes dos seus próprios países. Um dos principais aspectos da missão é que o grupo se esforça para aliar a boneca à realidade cultural de cada povo. Originalmente, a boneca era confeccionada com a pele morena, para se assemelhar à própria criança que receberia o brinquedo. Atualmente, o Dolls On Mission mantém essa ideologia de levar para a boneca a etnia de cada pessoa, mas a tornou mais abrangente. Hoje, há bonecas com pele negra, branca e até bonecas indígenas.

The dolls of salvation

A bracelet that tells stories of life
Alongside the dolls, Dolls on Mission group also prepares the call of salvation bracelets. The piece is made with colored stones, each one has a different meaning, so showing the values of a life based on Gospel
- Black stone: it is the sin that separates us from God;
- Red Stone, represents the blood of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for humanity;
- White Stone, is a proof of what Christ did for us, who have gotten rid of sins and gave us a new life;
- Stone Blue: represents the resurrection of Christ, when the stone was rolled away and the sky went from gray to blue. The resurrection is the good news that this necklace is to share Jesus is alive;
- Stone Green: is the new life that can be found in God that changes our inner self and makes us new people;
- Yellow Stone: the representation of gold, illustration of the sky, where the Chosen will live for eternity.
Both the dolls and the bracelets are distributed by a group of Christian missionaries, who armed with the Bible, countries go through almost destroyed by war, poverty or natural disasters to bring a little joy to the heart of the forgotten by the rulers of their own countries.
One of the main aspects of the mission is that the group strives to combine the doll to the cultural reality of each people. Originally, the doll was made with dark skin to resemble the very children who received the toy. Currently, the Mission Dolls On this ideology has to take the doll to the ethnicity of each person, but to become more comprehensive. Today, there are dolls with black skin, white and indigenous to dolls.
