Por isso a imagem mais comum é a de fantasmas, bruxas e monstros indo de casa em casa pedindo comida. A comemoração acontece, entre o pôr-do-sol do dia 31 de outubro e o nascer do dia 1° de novembro. Com o tempo, a comida servida deu lugar aos doces que as crianças vestidas de monstros pedem ao longo da noite.Ao contrario do que se faz, o grupo cristão quer mudar a história incentivando as pessoas a doarem Bíblias e presentes cristãos como “uma forma amigável de lembrar as crianças” que Jesus venceu a morte.
Por isso o nome da festa para eles deveria ser Jesus Ween [um trocadilho com win, vencer em inglês]. O projeto Jesus Ween foi criado pelo pastor Paul Ade, que vive em Calgary, Canadá. Ele tem feito seminários em diversas igrejas da América do Norte, tentado mobilizar cristãos de todas as denominações a levarem a sério essa iniciativa.
